post-blog-revamp

Well, this is embarrassing. It’s been almost a year since I last posted, and I do have some slightly legitimate reasons for that (which I will explain in some other post some other time), but basically I haven’t done a lot of reading. Like all my motivation for reading WENT COMPLETELY DOWN THE DRAIN just fell flat this year. And that sucks.

*Coughs*

Moving on, I’ve really been wanting to get back to blogging. If anything, writing is something that I always crave. But again, since I haven’t been reading all that much (I mean, I think I finished less than 10 books this year? How crazy is that!?), there will definitely be some changes with the blog.

1. I won’t be posting that often.

Devastating, I know. There’ll be less of me to go around. But alas, I don’t really have a lot of time to read and write (fellow bloggers understand the struggle of editing posts and fixing all the kinks, eh?), so posting less will definitely be a compromise. Maybe once a week or so? Hopefully twice?

2. I won’t be posting solely bookish things.

Around last year I kind of realized that I actually enjoy writing about my life and random things. Of course, I’ll try not to bore you with too much non-bookish things, but I might occasionally post about what’s up in life, some rants, some raves, you know the drill. (Side-question: Is this a yay or a nay for you?)

3. I will be blogging alone.

While I loved having co-bloggers to help me out, school has also helped me realize that I kind of prefer being a one-man team. I like having to rely on no one else but myself, and frankly, differing timezones with co-bloggers suck. But I will probably still be having a few guests over now and then just to spice things up!

There’ll probably be more changes to come.

I’ll let y’all know as soon as they do, yeah?

As for having a giveaway to celebrate…

Yes, I will be hosting a giveaway to celebrate both the new year and the whole new blog. But not right now, because Christmas just ended and there are still lots of people I haven’t gifted, therefore I need funds. *coughs* Anyway, I’ll probably do a small one on my Instagram or Twitter within the month, so stay tuned if you follow me on those!

Now I want to hear from you!

  • What do y’all think about the new blog name, look, and general atmosphere?
  • HAVE YOU MISSED ME?
  • How have you been while I was gone?
  • Anything juicy I should get caught up on?
  • What was your favorite book published in 2016? God I’m not updated anymore.
  • Would you prefer a Twitter or Instagram giveaway?

* Also it would be amazing if you want to grab our new blog button. It’s cute, right?

  1. Aimeeeeee, I have missed your presence in the blogging community especially the snarky reviews hahaha. I relate to this post on a spiritual level as this year wasn’t the best year for me in terms of blogging and reading. I actually started another blog only this time it’s more of personal, more of lifestyle. Hoping this year will be a better year for us to write and read! Happy new year as well! 😁

  2. I say yes to those extra, more personal posts Aimee! I really really miss you dear! I can really relate to how you feel. 2016 has been a great realization of just how books are just another part of my life that I adore and experience. I also saw that you’ve been busy with school stuff yourself! ;) Can’t wait to read more from you! :D

  3. AIMEE <33 Love the new design!!
It's always so nice to see you popping back into the blogging world. I've missed you a whole bunch, and despite my terrible track record myself when it comes to being active- I also hope 2017 will be a good year for my blog.

IT IS A HUGE YAY FOR NON-BOOKISH THINGS POSTS. Honestly Aimee, I relate to you a lot in the way that having a 100% book centered blog isn't for me. Furthermore, I have felt myself developing a lot more new interests and my love for reading has waned a a bit (especially with how busy I've been). You do you girl and I will read/enjoy everything just cause I know you've truly put your passion in it. Also I'm a bit nosy and just love knowing things about other people's lives haha.

So glad you're back <33 I've missed you so much.

  4. It’s great to see you again, Aimee. And with a new blog in tow. Looking forward to seeing what’s in store for us with your new venture. I, too, would like to diversify my blog but I just don’t know what to blog about. Lol.

    Happy New Year!

I’d prefer an Instagram giveaway because I don’t have twitter XD . The Serpent King is a 2016 release you should read :)
