Aimee here!

FABULOUS things happened this week blogging-wise. First of all, Zoe and I finally picked TWO co-bloggers–we’ll announce them on Monday–eep! Be sure to give them a warm welcome, y’all! :) I’m so excited to have them on board because I adore these two.

More co-blogging news: I signed up to be a co-blogger at The Book Geek (one of my all-time favorite blogs)… And then I received an email from the lovely Emily May (I’m sure you know her) letting me know that she’s interested in me co-blogging with them! *happy dances* You can now see my face right there on the blog sidebar. :) I’ll have a post up soon there!

We’ll Never Be Apart by Emiko Jean | An Inheritance of Ashes by Leah Bobet | Delicate Monsters by Stephanie Kuehn | Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales

I got some fabulous book mail this week! I got two books that I requested: We’ll Never Be Apart and An Inheritance of Ashes. I want to read the former because I mentioned wanting to read more thrillers, and the latter because I’ve been wanting to try something by Leah Bobet. Delicate Monsters was a on-a-whim request from the publisher since Faye, Emily and Giselle all loved it! (I just finished it and I enjoyed it.) The last book I got is one that I’ve been pining for for ages–Tonight the Streets Are Ours! Brb, dying.

Thank you so much to St. Martin’s Press, HMH Books for Young Readers and Farrar, Straus and Giroux! *TACKLE HUGS*

book haul, hardcovers, ya, young adult

The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent | The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oaks | The Game of Love and Death by Martha Brockenbrough | An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

I’ve only read one Rachel Vincent book, and I think it’s time for more, so hello, The Stars Never Rise! I’ve also been hearing THE BEST things about The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly, so I had to get myself a copy. I’ve also been pining for The Game of Love and Death for AGES–now it’s in my hands! I also HAD to buy An Ember in the Ashes despite the mixed reviews on it because the hardcover is so attractive.

These books were purchased at Fully Booked.

Ahhh, Delicate Monsters! I want that because I loved Charm & Strange. And also I’ve never heard of We’ll Never Be Apart, but it sounds absolutely creeptastic. SO SIGN ME UP.

Thanks for sharing my post too!! :’)

    1. Yessss me too! :D I’ve heard that it’s a bit mediocre though so I’m a bit scared. >_<
      Shh Cait, Shh…
I have Charm & Strange too! I should definitely get to reading it someday…

  4. Argh! All this co-blogging things make me want to get a co-blogger but I’m still not sure about that. Also, I admire your organization: Three blogs? O_O I can’t even with one! Lol. New books in my TBR? UPROOTED, which btw I’m starting on MONDAY. Yay!

    1. I was hesitant at first, but co-blogging with Faye & Rashika made me want to get co-bloggers of my own, haha. :) I AM NOT ORGANIZED AT ALL. You’ll find that out sooner or later.

  5. Wow, congratulations all around! First, for your two top secret new co bloggers, and for you getting to co blog at a blog you love! That is a lot of co blogging happening ;) Also… THE BOOKS. So pretty. SO PRETTY. I want them all, so you can just send them along whenever ;) Seriously though, I hope you enjoy them, and I cannot wait to meet your new co bloggers!!

  6. So excited to find out who the co-bloggers are! Wow, Aimee! I don’t know how you can do it! I’m a co-reviewer in another blog and I sometimes find it hard to have new content on BOTH blogs. Anyways, those books are GORGEOUS. Ember in the Ashes is so pretty… the maps, the cover, the pages… Gah.

  7. Yay, congratulations on all the wonderful co-blogging news! So excited to see who’s joining the Deadly Darlings team. And eek the covers for all your books are gorgeous! Ember has been really tempting despite mixed reviews, you’re right.

  8. Congratulations Aimee for getting that co-blogger position on The Book Geek! :D SO EXCITING. AND NEW CO-BLOGGERS?? EXCELLENTO. Can’t wait to meet them on Monday! :D And your haul is amazing… including those photography skills O_O I rate 20/10! I hope you enjoy all of them, I’m especially excited for Tonight The Streets Are Ours! Can’t wait to see what you think of it! :)

  9. Wowie, lots of exciting news going on at your place! Just out of curiosity, how many people applied to be a co-blogger? ;)
I hope you enjoy We’ll Never Be Apart – that certainly sounds interesting!

    1. There’s definitely a lot of exciting news! :D I think around 20? >_< I would love to have taken everyone in, but there's not enough space on the blog for all of us…
      Thanks, lovely!

  10. Congratulations on finding two awesome co-bloggers Aimee! And also on being accepted as a co-blogger in a blog you’ve loved for so long!
I have finally lifted my book buying ban, so I hope I can buy a few more books with my next paycheck!!

  11. Thank you for the mention, lovely!! <333

Ahhh, congrats on the new co-bloggers!!! Can't wait to see what epicness they bring to the blog :) THE SACRED LIES OF MINNOW BLY was one of my favourites I've read this year, I think. So I'm really looking forward to see what you'll think of that — and gosh, that edition of Ember is gorgeous :)

  12. YES! The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly was SO GOOD!! I loved it SO MUCH!
I also really enjoyed An Ember In The Ashes. It was really brutal, but really well done.
Have fun with the co-blogging :)

  13. Oh yay, you got a lot of great books this week, Aimee! Hope you enjoy reading- I look forward to hearing your thoughts on them. Also, that’s so awesome you’re co-blogging with Emily May. Hope your weekend has been great!

  14. Firstly, I’m so excited to see who you picked to be your co-bloggers, super looking forward to it! You make me so proud Aimee, with every new goal you hit I’m here cheering for you. Your voice deserves to be heard!

Those are some fantastic books that you picked too girl! I loved Ember in the Ashes and Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly, can’t wait to hear what you think!

    Have a lovely weekend <3

  15. I loved Leah Bobet’s Above, and was championing all over the place because a lot of people didn’t “get it” and gave it bad reviews. Then I saw an interview with her where she said the reason she choose to write Above was because YA was mostly stupid, and she wanted to prove that it could be written intelligently. I was thinking, WHAT???? After that, even though I still loved the book, I felt like I should not be promoting her as an author anymore, or sticking up for her book. She also said I was “creepy” for following her Twitter account and asking who her father was when she said she hated it when people compared her to her father. If she didn’t want her book fans following her on Twitter, she shouldn’t have had the link on the book page. Anyway, I find it odd she wrote another YA after what she said about the first one. She said Above was a standalone because writing more YA would be a waste of her time.

    1. So glad to hear that, Linda! Above’s on my TBR. :) But after what you said, I don’t think I’d want to promote her books either. Bad author behavior is THE BIGGEST turn-off ever. :/ “Writing more YA would be a waste of her time” WHAT?! *pokes hew new book with a stick*

  16. Look at you blogging all over the place! Way to go :D Congrats!! And while I’m at it, congrats on the lovely new books as well!! Happy reading and I’m off to check out your Unpopular Opinion Tag ;) xx

  17. Congratulations on your coblogging successes, both for this site and in joining others!

I loved most of An Ember in the Ashes, my favourite is Helene. I hope you will enjoy it too despite the love quadrangle :)

  18. Can’t wait to see who’s joining you guys!!

Congrats on the review copies – I’m debating on requesting We’ll Never Be Apart and An Inheritance of Ashes as well. I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to ask!

I’d like to see what you think of The Stars Never Rise; I’ve never read a Vincent book but I’ve had my eye on this one for months now!

  19. Congrats on all the co-blogging news!
Sooo you’re gonna need to let me know if We’ll Never Be Apart is a “Danielle” book – I’m just not sure from that synopsis haha.
And oooooh – The Stars Never Rise is one of my favorites this year. :)

  20. Hi Aimee! I was absent from blogging world last month because of “real life”, so I missed all your news. So glad you found co-bloggers! Congratulations on co-blogging on The Book Geek. I always new you are awesome, I’m happy that more people now can read your reviews!
