Life

Sad news #1: I am going back to school on Tuesday. *shudder* Please wish me luck that I don’t strangle anyone on the first day/week/month. I AM NOT A PEOPLE PERSON OKAY?

Sad news #2: I did not buy any books this week. (Okay that can be either good or bad, depending on how you look at it.)

Sad news #3: Marga has opted out of the “co-blogger” status and is now just a “contributor.” We’re looking for someone to fill in the spot.

Happy news #1: A close friend of mine and I went out before school, and it was one of those fabulous times when I got dizzy from all the laughing and talking.

FOR REVIEW

Never Always Sometimes Your Voice Is All I Hear
GRBUTTONGRBUTTON

I have been meaning to read an Adi Alsaid book for ages, and I was ecstatic when I got approved for his upcoming novel, Never Always Sometimes! Your Voice is All I Hear also sounds really angsty and kind of emotional (which is my kind of book) so I just had to request it.

Thank you to Harlequin Teen and Sourcebooks Fire!

  1. Oh bummer. That’s a lot of sad news. Hope things start to come around for you! It sucks when all the bad just keeps slamming into you one right after another! I’ve been there and it’s not pretty!

And like you said, no new books can be a good thing! Your TBR pile didn’t grow for one week! That’s always a nice reprieve!

Hope you have a better week this week!

  2. I WAS LEGIT TERRIFIED THAT THERE WAS GOING TO BE AWFUL NEWS AND YOU WERE STOPPING BLOGGING OR SOMETHING, THANK GOODNESS. Although the news that you have to go back to school is *almost* as sad :( I commiserate with you.

  3. So sorry to hear about all the sad news. Especially school. I am particular sympathetic considering I just wrote my hand off doing a mock exam paper. *types with one hand* Anyhow, holidays will be here real soon! (And there’s always weekends.) And you still got plenty of books without buying them! And a new co-blogger is going to be fun too, I’m sure :)

    1. Exams are the WORST. They make my brain tear apart unfashionably. I actually have school on Saturdays though… *cries* Yes, I have a shit ton of books. xD And I hope I find an amazing co-blogger!

Good luck with school, I am SO not a people person either so I totally feel your pain *hugs* At least you got to go out with a good friend for giggles and good chats PLUS you got some nice pretties to read :D I hope your week flies by and is filled with nice surprises to ease the pain! xx

  5. *gasps* No new books this weeks? That IS terribly sad news. :( I commiserate for your bookshelves. But celebrate for your wallet. Gahh, good luck with school… I am SO not a people person, either — which is why I hated pretty much all of my high school. xD

  6. I hope you get to find a co-blogger soon Aimee, as your blog is fantastic! And I hate that feeling when I have to go back to work again :( I hop you’re still able to fit some great reads in though!

  7. Good luck with the start of school! I’m definitely NOT a people person, so I feel your pain. (I’m lucky enough to be on mid-year break now – phew!)

I’ve been wanting to read an Adi Alsaid book for a while – think he did a road trip one prior to Never Always Sometimes? Hope it’s a goodie!

  9. Aw, I am sorry for all the sad news! And fingers crossed for non-strangulation ;) I know the struggle can be real hah. Also, I really want Your Voice is All I Hear, but I don’t think Sourcefire books likes me. More sadness. And Never Always Sometimes sounds so good too!

I hope school goes well, and that you find a new co-blogger soon!!

  10. Yes, yes, I am fab.

Awk, good luck returning to brave the schoolish crowds. *gulps* DON’T STRANGLE ANYONE. YOU CAN BE STRONG. I BELIEVE IN YOU. I’m not a people person either. Like I’m the furthest thing from a people person…gawsh, I even avoid the mirror because people. (Don’t question the logic of that statement. JUST YEAH.) Anyway. I hope you like the Adi Alsaid book! I heard such bad things about his first book that I’m kind of very cautious, hehe. But it does sound good!

  11. All of that sad news though :( BE HAPPY AIMEE ILY OKAYYYY. But yes, I can defs see why you’d be sad because ew school. It’s always so hard to go back after summer. And yes, there’s a lot of people I dislike at school lmao. I think it’s where all of the things I dislike in the human race tends to come out lmao. I don’t think it’s sunken in for me that this is my last summer before uni though omfg. It’s crazy how fast time goes Aimee, soon enough you’ll be finished with school OH MY GOD.

Never Always Sometimes, girrrrrl. I’m defs up for a buddy read with you <33 let's hope it ends up better than our last one lmao.

  13. School can be nasty when the atmosphere isn’t for you, or you don’t like that crowdedness. I hope you get through okay, Aimee. Hold strong and think of the books and wonderment awaiting your return each and every day.
Your two books look interesting! I’ll look out for reviews! xx
