Undead Monthly

Check out what you’ve missed in the last month!

July has quickly gone by! Geez, it’s August already. That means exams are coming here in the Philippines, so I guess you’ll be seeing less of Aimee, Dyan and Marga. *sadface*

Plus, we didn’t have a lot of posts up this July because of school and reading slumps.

Undead Monthly-Highlights

• Aimee and Dyan looked for a co-blogger and ended up finding two awesome people!
• You weren’t able to attend Stephanie Perkins’ signing in the PH? Here’s a recap!

Undead Monthly-Featurer

Addicted for Now (Addicted, #2)

Addicted for Now by Krista & Becca Ritchie
maybe a review to come at The Social Potato

This is one of those very rare occasions where my book of the month will be a new adult novel. It seems that most of the YA novels I read this month were either just good or mediocre. Anyway, this one just gave me all the feels. It wasn’t a perfect book or anything, but it made me laugh and tear up like crazy. -Aimee

The Winner's Curse (The Winner's Trilogy, #1)

The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
Again, Dyan hasn’t reviewed this but you can check out Aimee’s Goodreads or blog review

In the four books that I’ve read this month, I feel that The Winners Curse by Marie Rutkoski was the best. I admired the world-building and the plot. I like female characters who are smart and can take care of themselves, and that is exactly what Kestrel is! The love between Arin and Kestrel definitely earned some bonus points! – Dyan

Dangerous Boys

The suspense and mystery elements were so darn good and it just knocked the socks off of me! -Zoe

Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2)

Crown of Midnight is my favorite read for this month because of the author’s amazing writing style. I love the characters and the world building! It has shocking twists and some turn of events actually stopped my heart from beating. Yeah, that’s too much, but you know what I mean. ;) JUST. PLAIN. AWESOME.

  4. I am so excited to read Addicted For Now. I miss Lily and Lo and the whole gang. It has been a while since I last read anything related to them :((( The Winner’s Curse is a really compelling read. It made my fave books for 2014. I hope to read Abigail Haas’s books soon!

*screams* OPPOSITION *grabby hands* So darn excited for this finale. I just hope it won’t disappoint me like what happened to her Covenant Series. :P Glad to hear you guys had a good month! Looking forward to the upcoming reviews.

  7. Yay for monthly summaries! They’re so much fun (: I’m basically a huge stalker so I love seeing all what all my bloggy friends have gotten up to during the month. Omg, can’t believe it’s August too :o School starts for me in September though. Good luck with exams ladies! I definitely get so stressed out over those, but I hope y’all can just take a breather and be well prepared. I feel ya on reading slumps also, everything I’ve been reading lately has been in the 3-3.5 range and it makes me so unexcited to pick up more books.

Wooo Dangerous Boys! I really do need that one in my hands. Loved Dangerous Girls so much, and can’t wait to see the review of it on this blog. I also loved Crown of Midnight, much more than Throne of Glass that’s for sure. I hope Heir of Fire will bring more of the awesomeness that was Crown of Midnight.

I’m super excited for Isla and the Happily Ever After of course :D Stephanie just writes the most adorable and squee worthy romances. I’m also excited for Opposition, the Lux series is a little bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. Gates of Thread and Stone also looks super interesting, that cover is super gorgeous omg (:

Loved this recap ladies! Can’t wait to see more from The Deadly Darlings.

  12. This is my first time visiting your all’s blog and can I just say that it’s ADORABLE. I love the name and theme! <3
The Addicted series is one I want to read ASAP – I have all the books on my Kindle, so I'm just waiting for a good time to start it. I've heard amazing things! And I've been stalking the authors on twitter/tumblr, so even though I'm not a huge fan of NA, the way they talk about their characters makes me think I'll like them a lot.
I'm reading The Winner's Curse right now – fingers crossed I agree with the hype. :)
August is all about Daemon and Katy – I can't believe it's their last book!

  13. Good luck on your exams, girls! Wow, you girls are very organized. You already have scheduled blog post for this month. I still struggle to keep up with my blogs lately. I’m adding The Winner’s Curse and Dangerous Boys on my list too.

    PS: Advanced happy birthday, Aimee!
